Yep its another one of those threads....:D I'm looking to buy a new bass just for metal. My band plays things like Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot etc. As well as our own stuff which is a bit slower. I want a full, punchy, growly bass. I am thinking about getting and ibanez, good idea? What do you think?

Yes, i think an Ibby is a GREAT idea.

I'm not too heavily involved with metal playing, but i think either(or both) an ATK or SR/SRX would suit your needs very well.

I've had my ATK for 7 years now and i love it. It's my main gigging bass. I also had an SRX390 which was also great, THEE fastest neck i have ever played.
