Practice Leads To EMERGENCY!

So I was practising for an hour and when I finished, walked to the computer and felt something odd when I pressed the keys on the keyboard. I have a blood-filled blister on my middle finger.

Now the problem is I have a jam in 2 hours time and a gig in about 2 weeks. Any home remedies to get rid of it?
Also I can't use a pick because I am really sloppy with them
Thanks

Pop the blister from the side. Not directly into the bubble but a little ways away. Squeeze the fluid out then coat the tip of your finger in super glue. It'll work for now and the tip will harden in a few days.H
This is not something I'll do straight away - I'll wait 2 or 3 days for a new skin to grow underneath, then pop it... :rollno:

In my 45 plus years playing I have had a lot of different maladies such as this. You already have the short term advice which is good. My advice for the long term is this:

REGARDLESS of your PREFERED technique's

learn to play with a pick

learn to pluck with your thumb (old school style)

learn to slap ( I am learning this even though I hoped it would go away for 30 yrs. LOL )

learn to use AT LEAST 3 fingers on your right hand for finger style

learn to tap

learn hamer on's and pull off's

all of these things will allow you to get through a night or two of injured body parts and you will be a better player all round for it!

and when you hurt REST IT lighten up, change positions, change your strap length. TAKE A BREAK you don't HAVE to go to that jam. take a few nights off for YOU !!!
