Which Pickguard for Candy Apple Red PBass?

Alright guys, lemme see yo red pbasses.

Want something unique, I'm open to any ideas, but one thing's for sure: I ain't keeping stock white on it.

I'm pretty much thinking black. If it was white/sunburst tort would be my choice, but I can't imagine a ca red pbass with a tort. Unless anyone has pics?

Show me your candly apple red pbasses!

white pearl.

i have a cherry red p bass and i used solid white.
there was some metallic in the paint, so i didnt want pearl.

but imo on a solid candy apple red bass, white pearl would make it pop.

i cant post a pic while at work, so here is a previous thread i posted it in.

I've got a black pickguard on my red P-bass - here's a pic (the bass on the left is an Ibanez Blazer Bass, which , ironically I got with a BLACK pickguard and replaced it with a WHITE one).

Hey guys, thanks for all the posts. The pearloid and black both look nice, but pearl's a bit too fancy/elegant for me, I think black would be more fitting.

While streaming through pics, I found this black abalone/black pearl thing. I think it'd look great on a red pbass. Anyone got anything of that black sort on a red candy apple red?

Lol, so many choices. They should have a bass simulator with all these different pickguards so you can really see how they look. lol


So black pearl sounds good to me. It's like a black + pearloid, so basically I'm taking both. LOL

Follow-up quesiton, my bass is a 97/98 CIJ PBass. What sorta pickguards fit on it?
