For sale is an early 70's 7/8 Czech bass. It is a Gamba-shaped and a flat back. This was purchased from the Cincinnati Bass Cellar in 2007.
This is a very large and loud bass. Great for section work or jazz. Here are the measurements:

String Length: 42"
Body length: 45"
Top bouts: 22"
Bottom bouts: 29"
Depth:9"
Overall length: 76"

A seam repair and new tuners were put on in late 2008 by the Cincinnati Bass Cellars. There is a crack on the side of the lower bout that has been there since I bought the bass; it has not spread and not been repaired on their recommendation. There is also a small mark on the bottom of the back of the bass. I’m not sure what it is and it has no affect on the playability/sound of the instrument; it has been there for as long as I’ve owned the bass.

Asking [DEL]$11,000[/DEL] $9000

I can deliver this bass within a 3.5 hour radius of my home. This includes the Dayton, Cincinnati, Louisville, St. Louis, and Chicago area. If you would like to play this instrument, you are more than welcome to come by teaching studio in Terre Haute, IN to try out.

just an fyi, you might want to get that bridge looked at

Why do you say? The only thing I see is it looks crooked, but that is only the angle at which the picture was taken. My bass stand is not big enough for this bass, so I had to lean it. I'll see if I can find someone to hold it while I snap a pic....should have it up tonight. If it's something else please let me know; I've noticed no problems. Thanks.

well, from the side pics it looks like the bridge is starting to point upwards. this is common with synthetic strings especially since they tend to grab the bridge and pull it upward as you tighten the strings to tune. sometime just pushing the bridge down will fix it, sometimes, if its been like that long enough, the wood is actually bent.

Played this bass last week. It's a special instrument and really plays well beyond its price range. In fact, I remember almost buying it four years ago when I was shopping at the Cellar, but I ended up spending three times the money on a different bass...

I found a crack on one of the sides. I guess I couldn't escape this crazy winter we've had! So, I need to take the bass to my repair guy, but that's not going to happen for at least a month and a half. So I am going to take it off of here for a while. If someone wants to buy it before I take it in there will be a SIGNIFICANT discount on the price. I will leave this ad up a week, so that if you have any questions you can ask. I will post a picture of the crack tomorrow. Thanks.

Both cracks are about 6 cm. The first pic crack was about 2.5 cm and the 2nd pic's crack was a little over 2 cm.
