Fender Rumble Club

Yeah! Plug that into a Rumble 115 cab and Rumble On! for totally tubey modeling tones!!! Then, just line out to the FX Return of your trusty Rumble 500 for plenty of big stage volume!
I'd bet I could run that into my R112 for our smaller gigs. Oh, wait....that's why I got the R40-1 piece to schlep.

Been my experience in trying to save a bit of coin, I end up spending more than I wanted.

More than a few times I would buy an amp I think would do the job only to find out in a live situation it wouldn't cut it. So I would try adding a cab or chaining another amp to make it. Ended up hauling more and more gear and it got ridiculous. Not to mention the set up and tear down time for all that. Ti only in the end bite the bullet and buy the amp I should have from the start. But in an effort to save coin by adding to what I had or what was least expensive, I ended up shelling out even more and got stuck with a bunch of stuff I wasnt using anymore and had to move.

So in the end, I learned: I'd rather have it and not need it and need it and not have have it.

So I aim higher than I should and never have to sweat it if the amp will perform correctly and be heard. Plus I like easy load in and outs. I rather have to not push the amp too hard and push it to failure. I've done that too many times now.
Generally, i do agree with that philosophy. My hangups with this particular scenario is 1) price gap (100 @ $300, vs 200+cab @ $800) and 2) this is comparing one 200w, 2- speaker rig to another. Its not like im looking at a 500w head with room to grow.

I do see the pros of the 200, a 15w speaker and a 140w one- piece amp when i want it. Also, i could just skip the ext cab an chain the 200 to my 100!

Again, the 100 is enough for the vast majority of my gigs . Just wanted backup plan/alternative for those special occasions. I wouldn't think of dragging out the 2 rumbles and chain them if it was for every gig.

I'm sure he means well, but his Ampeg bashing (or anything non-Fender) & the snarkiness are unbelievable sometimes.
Most of the stuff in those "Rumble Talks" is just his postulation w/o any evidence to back it up, but no one has ever bothered to dispute him.

He's physically the closest TB member I know, but I'm not Fender enough for him.

Just wondering how this would work with my 200 Combo and 1-15 Cab? Would the tube sound be that noticeable compared to the Vintage button on the 200C?

I have used my X2 head with a 15" bass cab for light duty jammin', seemed to work just fine :D

I still love my R 200c :smug:

So, @amoodymule, is the tube sound of the X2 head that noticeable compared to the Vintage button on the 200C? Or compared to the overdrive of the 200C?

The neck wood for NT basses is more carefully selected. Some of the top-end basses are NT design, like Rickenbacker.
Back “when I used to play”, I remember loving some neck-through basses by Ken Smith, Spector, and a few others. That was back in the 90’s when I lived in San Antonio though lol. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for some nice specimens!

I haven’t seen him since we butted heads and he put me on ignore... Someone let him know that I just bought my second rumble so he can come out and play again :smug:

You can't dispute with the indisputable ;).

I'm sure he means well, but . . . .
Most of the stuff in those "Rumble Talks" is just his postulation w/o any evidence to back it up, . . . .

However, some of the stuff in those "Rumble Talks" are attributed to certain Fender personnel, some named and some not, and not just from published documentation, at least AFAICS. Plus, he seems to have a mysterious benefactor who bestowed a Rumble Studio 40 on him, or so it appeared to me! So, the mystique of "the insider" looms large in his legend. And I won't even go into his heart health issues or what side effects those meds may have. Suffice to say, I wish him good health. Not that he would want me defending him, I'm not, since he seems to have blocked me, too. But, . . . . it's complicated.

I agree, not all of it is just his opinion or observations.
Maybe "most" wasn't the right word to use, but when he throws out ridiculous statements that Fender is NOT scooped & never was, or that the Studio & Stage have the best digital effects available on the market, how can you take him seriously?

Same here. I call it: cry once.
