Took me a couple weeks to get it cleanly to speed. I play most of the written licks, but i try to make it my own. I play the original solos and most of the important stuff.

haha, i guess i may be just gassing. The thing is that my p has labella flats on now and while they are amazing for what they do, it's hard no matter what technique i use to get a geddy or entwistle sound from them. i may just switch to rounds.

I bought the Musician's Earplugs, which are very good and have a sufficient amount of lows and highs. I am just worried that I have already lost some of the highs in my hearing. Is there anyway that I can test this?

I've only been playing bass seriously for about 2 years, but I do practice pretty loud for long periods of time(I have a decibel meter and try to keep the level at below 100 db, but sometimes it goes a bit over that). Is that enough to permanently damage my ears?

The string has broken in, but do you think I should just put the whole set on?

I changed the G to a Dunlop, and the tension feels good, but will the tone settle down by tomorrow? Would I screw up the neck if I just changed all of the strings for now?

I'll try it. I also heard that rubbing your strings after eating something greasy deadens them. Is this fact or just an old wives tale?

I'm fine with nickel wrap as I only need a short term replacement. I not quite sure how as the bass was being set up and the guy that broke it put on a super low tension, (I prefer higher tension) clanky string. What do you think about Dunlop, or D'Addarios, as previously mentioned?

I will be playing Rush at the gig, but I'm also going to be playing blues songs like Born Under a Bad Sign, so I need a good string for bright tones and fat, deep almost p-bass sounding tones. (Sorry I forgot to mention this also)
