Change out the pickups and preamp, but keep the old ones. Just for the peace of mind, you'll have them, but its such a reversible change. You're not disrespecting the instrument at all.

Any 55-60 skyline pickguards out there? Looking for a Tort or Black. Wanted to check before I got one made
