Regrets...I've had a few....but then again...too few to mention
Has anyone in these threads actually ordered a new 55-94 direct from Lakland with the newly offered 34” scale since they put the option on their site this winter? Also has anyone ordered a 55-94 with chambers, and what was the weight benefit? Thanks everyone.
I have a chambered 55-94 I purchased in 2024. It’s very light, maybe the lightest bass I own. I’ve never weighed it but it’s gotta be right around 8 lbs

Just play that last week in church.
I need to find a Before and after picture of that one because.... It was actually the test meal for the CHI Sonic pickups and was really a mess at one point.
There was no way to play it without a pick guard.
Pat Wilkins came up with the idea of staining the quilted maple before painting it.
He suggested that to me as part of the refin
I originally just wanted to have it stained blue but what I saw the final product I was amazed at how great it looked.
He was definitely ahead of his time as people started doing it soon thereafter.
It definitely adds a depth that is not there normally.
I will try to find some before and after pictures sometime this weekend.
That is a killer bass.

You were not the first one to say that. I have had multiple offers to buy it and right now I'm not selling.
Theres no bass like the one you dont have I guess, but till that point, that was the nicest bass I've ever played and the memory is the thing you chase I guess. It is probably the most fashionable boutique instrument I could point to

I you want a more stingrayish tone just add very narrow band boost +18dB at 4kHz. And start rolling off the highs above this to taste. This is one of the characteristics of the MM sound.

Nice! And it still came with the hard shell case. I thought they were shipping all basses with that deluxe bag now.
Thanks! It actually came with a Lakland branded gig bag - I use a thin line hardshell case to store most of my basses, easier to load on my stand and better humidity control.
The bass is ultra light at 8.10 lbs!! The only small challenge is the G string bridge adjustment is at its lowest point, and I still need to take it down lower.
