    OK cheers, I thought it wouldn't be an issue. I used them with very low synth basses and had no issue but assumed a bass guitar frequency is lower and could damage them.

    I can't find anywhere I can try it, as for amps I'm looking to plug this into guitar rig or hopefully get a line6 pod thingy - if something like that exists and plug my headphones to play. Its more for my studio, since I'm not playing live if thats a deciding factor.

    OK going to stick to Ibanez or Yamaha. The Ibanez I really want, but pricey, the SRX300 I found is cheaper but I'm still on the face about it since its geared towards heavy rock/metal. What I want is to plug and play and quick fiddle for some warm bass.

    This is way back but I used to own a line5 pod for my guitar, it was pretty good for amps and effects?. Is there anything similar to that for a bass, just want to plug in some headphones and play. Or should I just get guitar rig?

    What is the difference between a SR and SRX?. SRX is cheaper here for some reason?. Also thank you guys for your help but sadly I live in the UK so these great basses I been offered I have to turn down.

    I'm looking to buy a bass guitar to play funk, soul and jazz. I have small hands so a thin neck is a must. I been looking at the Yamaha RBX374 and the Ibanex SR300 can anyone tell me if they're suitable, or can recommend anything else?. I been looking at the Squier modified basses too...
