players who are ashamed of having "entry level" brand instruments...

I did a review of a 'cheap' but very much gigworthy instrument, A Fender Squier Affinity. Anyone who shames you has their own issues to sort out.: https://www.amazon.com/Squier-Fender-Affinity-Beginner-Electric/dp/B00C5QMW3A/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

Bruce Foxton.. a great player no one seems to know.

Old thread, but rates a response: The hooks in A Town Called Malice sink into you deeply.

Official Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI Club

My only (very minor) beef with the Wiki is that the whole wiki is entitled "Squier Bass VI" and I don't think Wiki names are modifiable by users. It might get better hit results if it were "Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI" - but maybe not. Just a suggestion.

Bill Lawrence P-46 Pickup mini review (BEST P Pickup I've EVER tried)!

Squier now has a PJ variant in its Affinity series. $179 new through all the usual major places. It's alder, not plywood, either. P body, jazzy style neck. Drop 'em in one of those. Black on black, rosewood, is smexy. :)...

Curiosity: Loverboy Bassist Scott Smith - gear?

I know he wasn't any sort of *amazing* bass player, but I am curious as to the rig, and the bass in particular that Scott Smith of Loverboy played/used to record. His lines are simple and fun, stand out in the mix, and easy to teach to beginners. I grew up in the 80's and had an unhealthy...

Need Help with Upgrading Squire Affinity PJ

First, don't let folks trash talk your Squier. The foreign modelings of Fender have come a long way, and the Squiers continue to impress a lot of veteran players. It's got an alder P-bass body, nice jazz style neck, rosewood board, and a lot of bass with tonal variety for under 200 bucks. It is...
