I really think Flea is a very underrated player. Blood Sugar Sex Magic has become one of my favorite albums of all time and includes some of the most awesome basslines I have ever heard.

Peter Hook used a Hondo rickenbacker copy on most Joy Division recordings, those include Closer and Unknown Pleasures. Not sure how much it was worth but I don't think it was very expensive.

Radiohead is without a doubt up there with bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Belle & Sebastian are making some great music that could well compare to the classic pop bands. Mike Patton's various projects are very great and Dillinger Escape Plan is making some of the freshest metal ever...
