When I had mine I tried a few tubes and the Tung Sols where also my favorites. JJs were nice but too bright and felt like it lost what makes the Aguilar sound.

I agree. I also remember the DB750 did bedt when cutting some bass instead of boosting like crazy. And themthe and highs where subtle kind of like the old Fender stack so they needed a bit of a push to really make a difference. But that's also what makes it great, since it's near impossible to...

Congrats on the amp! I had a DB750 and it's the only piece of gear I regret selling. Such a unique amp and it's bound to become legendary IMO. That all Aguilar rig is making me drool. :drool: Enjoy them.

I bought a 4003 from 2009 of the same finish a few days ago. I've been wanting one for years and got a used one in excellent condition for more than that price. I'd say get it. I'm not an expert on these as other people here and have just had it for a few days, but... I play own a Precision...

Peavey TKO115 here as well. Heavy as a horse, but cheap very reliable. It wasn't high-end but it did the job for years. Especially since I didn't know what high-end meant. Later upgraded to a Hartke 3500 head with a Peavey 410xt.

I'm one of you. After years of trying way too many string brands and types I've been using Nickel for over a decade. I'm a DR Strings kind of person and use Lo-Riders on Pbass and my Hollow and Sunbeams on my Jazz.

Thanks. I put mine right after the tuner because I had room there and otherwise I would need to rewire the whole board. I guess that's my next project.
