    Low-Wattage Tubesters Official Club

Best thing about my little 5W Ibanez. It has a "speaker out" jack, so you can plug a cabinet in, and when that's done, the internal speaker is switched off. I can run a 4x12 cab through it with no problem at all.

I believe the Phillips ones are good also.

I hear that some people love Ruby, but I'm not one of them... But if you do, that's great!

JJ, Tung Sol, Groove Tubes and Electro Harmonix seem to be the best... I know purists specify NOS RCAs, but they are getting very hard to find!

I originally had Ruby brand tubes in mine, but they were crap, at least in this amp... Very low output, lots of pops and cracks... Swapped them out for Electro Harmonix and they rock! (1 x 12AX7 pre amp and 1 x 6V6GT for 5 Watts) Man... The difference was night and day. It's a lot louder...

NBD! But no appetite for spandex.

Sweet bass man! Looks cool. Don't worry about the color - haters gonna hate! If they don't like it, screw 'em... ;)

    The $99 bass experiment

Here's my application to the club...5w all tube Ibanez TSA5. I bought it to play my guitars through, but my bass sounds good through it too! So do I get #73??? ;)

Headstock damage. What would you do?

Personally I would leave it, but that's just me. Perhaps a bit of wood putty? You can shape it to the correct shape, and probably stain it so it wouldn't be as noticeable. My one and only bass has a crack in the headstock that goes right through one of the tuner key holes, but it is stable so...

How do I wire up a 1988 Aria Pro II with active pickups?

Thanks! That would be great! Myself and a few guys on this forum and another, have been trying to rewire this thing properly for a couple of weeks, and it's twisting my brains! Any help appreciated! Salute!

How do I wire up a 1988 Aria Pro II with active pickups?

Thats awesome, man. Thankyou! Oh, and your english is better than my spanish! Like my first picture, your one is also very hard to follow.. There is a lot of wires in a small space - it almost looks like a pot of spaghetti! But thanks anyway. Muchas grazias Elba!

Restoring old Frankenbass. What pickup would you put in this bass?

My cat is the image of yours, but weighs 19lb! He beats up the neighbourhood dogs!

    Flare or bell bottom jeans

Mine belonged to my older brother! They were purple corduroy and the bells were so wide you could have used them as umbrellas!

    Flare or bell bottom jeans

I was also born in 1973... I think our generation were the last to wear the true bell bottoms... Boot cuts are similar, but not authentic bells...
