    Question about Nashville notation

I’ve done it both ways. When I started using NNS, having come from a classical background, I preferred 1 for the minor “tonic”. I really couldn’t see why anyone would notate in relation to the relative Major, making the minor tonic “6-“. But after a few charts, I quickly realized that it was...

    Nashville Number app BESIDES 1chart?

@fretlessman71 - if you’re still looking for a cross-platform app for authoring NNS charts, check out JotChord (www.jotchord.com). You just type the numbers, and it creates a nicely formatted PDF, updating as you type.

    Nashville notation Q

My #1 complaint about “ChordPro” style charts that are all over the interwebs. They work for guys/gals with a guitar who already have the song in their ears. As a rhythm section player, I need to know exactly where the chord changes are so I can help signal them.

    Nashville notation Q

My favorite aspect of NNS charts is the focus on detailing the structure of a song. Every measure is accounted for. Agree with what folks said, NNS pretends every song is in a major key, so you see a lot of 6- chords. If a song feels minor, like you’re describing, then you’ll find that the V or...

New SolidGoldFX Beta V Bass Preamp Pedal

I just got one and added it to my pedalboard. I wasn’t sure how well it would do what I wanted to do. Specifically, I have a Noble that I love, but I wanted the option to add a bit more grit / amp-like tone for when I play direct without an amp (my norm now, it seems). I’ve only played it at...

    New Byoc Parametric Multi-Band Compressor.

OK, fair enough. In that case, I'll wait on the sidelines to see if others find the BYOC+mods useful for fingerstyle playing. It's very kind of you to contribute your expertise, Frank.

    New Byoc Parametric Multi-Band Compressor.

Thanks, Frank! I'd be open to putting it in a larger enclosure, if anyone had ideas about how to add pots for attack/release. For release, would it be as simple as replacing the proposed 2k2 resistors with a pot? 10K linear, perhaps? @dstroud or @bongomania, please let us know if you end up...

    New Byoc Parametric Multi-Band Compressor.

Sorry for the bump on the 5-month-old thread, but I was curious if anyone built the pedal, tried the mods, and did any before/after comparisons. I play a Fender P-Bass with flatwounds, fingerstyle, through a B15 (in the studio) and an Eden WT-300 (live). I don't love the non-defeatable...

Looking for subtle mow mowwww Envelope/Autowah type effect.

One vote for the EBS BassIQ. It's very versatile, subtle to all-out wackiness, providing your playing is consistent. I find it forces me to play consistently to keep the effect subtle, so it's kinda like a training tool. :hmm:
