He uses the so-called typewriter technique also used by John Entwistle. To me it looks like a version of tapping with one hand. I think he also uses regular slap and pop as well as fingerstyle.

I'm not a fan of the tone, but jazz bases are quite comfortable. For me there's just something about a Precision Bass. It definitely lacks the versatility but that one thing does it does perfectly for my ears. But a j-bass with a block inlay on the neck just looks really nice.

I'm new at setting my bass up. I've changed my strings from half rounds to roundwound. I've tried tightening and loosening the bridge, however the 12th fret E registers flat either way. Why is that and how can I fix it? Thanks.

I play 34 inch scale basses just because that's what I have available. In the future I want to go to 30 inch scale instruments because it'll be easier on the hands because I have a family history of arthritis
