My First Bass!

Sadly, I have to agree with Red. I briefly had a Mikey Way Mustang, it didn't work for me on my "FEEL" and "SOUND" criteria.

As comfortable as the neck was, and I mean "really comfy!", it was so heavy towards the back-end, it kept wanting to lift the neck skyward. Basically, it was the opposite of "neck dive", as if that particular body needed a long-scale neck for it. Maybe there are others that are more balanced, but Mustangs are kinda rare by me, so I have no basis with which to compare by.

On the "SOUND" front, it was just too one-dimensional for me and it's basic sound was just too plain to my ears. However, I must be honest and admit that all my basses have two pickups…either a J/J or a P/J configuration…so take my review with a grain o' salt.

That pun is horrible, loathsome, vile, base…

…and utterly brilliant! As a semi-professional stand-up comedian, I salute you, sir! :thumbsup:
I think I just really wanted it because well, I like MCR a lot.
Is it really that heavy? Truth to be told, the one I have right now it already quite heavy! Guess I'm not investing in that one anytime soon.... ^^;

Also, thank you for all of the replies! The amounts of replies I get every time amazes me, every time I log on. :D
Thank you for all of the wonderful words. I promise I won't be selling this one...as long as I can! I've still got a LONG way to go, but I'm going to try my best, especially since now I actually have my own bass.
One question though: My bass is currently in its gig bag right now, and it's propped in between this little space between my bookcase and drawer. Should I invest in a stand or is it okay to just keep it in the gig bag?

That bass looks like something I'd want to play, especially in that white finish. Hopefully you will review it at some point in the future. Welcome to playing bass and I wish you well. You will experience a lot of frustrating times but it's worth fighting onwards. Music is wonderful and the bass is, in my opinion, the most wonderful instrument.
