    Speaker Size

I have a 30w class A tube amp... I don't need to play that loud either. Closed back Orange 2x12 guitar with Celestion Vintage 30s worked best for me. I will say all the better 4x10s sounded great as well, Aggie, Berg, Epi, Schroeder, etc.

    Practice Amp Recommendation

Best of luck to you. I play bass for Jesus every Sunday. I hope the church pays you , with that baby on his way! Get an Orange Tiny Terror 2X12... Small, under $1000. used, and you'll still be able to gig for Jesus with it. And should you feel like practicing, I'm sure the amp won't mind.

    Orange bass speaker

That's a tough problem, two great amps. It seems Orange is doing some very good things lately with tubes. SVT would be my second choice!

    Orange Amps?

If you can afford it buy the AD 200. They are pricey! They sound great! Try ebay... If not, either Terror will do the job. And don't listen to the Orange haters. I found an Orange 4x10 for $360. And Orange has a long lineage in the music world, next to names like Ampeg, Fender, Vox, Marshall...

    Maple or Rosewood??

I agree with this... It's an under the finger feel thing. I always buy the instrument that speaks to me in some way. I never thought I would own a maple fretboard, now I do, 78 P bass. Love it! I still prefer the feel of rosewood, it's a bit more forgiving as well.

    Cabinet advice please...please...please.

I agree, more paper moves more air; there's no substitution for that. Get two 4x10s, use two when needed, and one when your back is hurting.

Using Guitar Heads or Cabs Myth

Just purchased an Orange PPC212C Celestion Vintage 30 loaded closed back... guitar cab, for my 78 P bass. There's just something about those speakers I really like. Using a 30w THD bivalve guitar amp, KT88s class A. And the Joe Meek single channel comp/eq I run, bumps at 40Hz if need be. This...

    Celestion Vintage 30

Anyone have any experience using Celestion V 30s for bass guitar? I recently played my vintage P bass through an Orange 410 and a relatively low wattage class A, Orange head. The tone was amazing. So much so, I ordered an Orange 212 closed back for the job.
