The bass player for the SWAMPERS only played Swamp Ash basses. He was heard to say " It plays and sounds wonderful, but smells a little musty".

I love my SVT through my 4x10 hlf,with my 5 string the hlf's reproduce the lows of the B string very well thanks to the ports. 1cab sounds great for most rooms,but 2cabs are plain bad azz!

Not to mention the poor window!:woot:

For me,it's 2- 4x10 HLF's(early HLN's). 1cab or 2 they sound killer and easy to transport. Powered by an SVT VR.

Metal players are anemic and therefore require the obvious, Iron Tablets.:thumbsup:

P.S. my B75 Carvin was purchased for $300.00 used with case. So look around, it plays very well for a $300 bass.

I would suggest trying some basses with active electronics. Both of my Carvins are active and both(even the fretless) has incredible punch, of coarse your amp and cab have to be able to reproduce that out front if you play live. But,thru a DI or a house system there should be no problem. So go...

This is supposed to be "why are Ampeg SVT'S so popular. Not what amp is better or worse than an SVT. Imho,there are many good amp and cab combos, none compare to an Ampeg SVT paired with Ampeg cabs. Remember what grandpa Bad Azz said, " Never try to teach a pig to sing, it only annoys the pig...
