I am considering adding a drop tuner to one (or more) of my basses. Should I just have one dedicated to drop D tuning or is a d-tuner the way to go?

Well they haven't given me the boot but two members aren't talking to each other any more and the band appears to be caput.

It is a little piece of fiberboard I kept in the tank bag mostly for use in the summer so the kickstand doesn't melt into asphalt. It works the same way on turf.
