Thunderbird Club

Agreed. I only posted it because is has P-Bass width neck, which is not my thing. I know, I know, neck swap (enablers!) but I have a kid graduating high school next week and starting college in in the fall. Money leaves faster than we earn it these days!
Same here! Sitting on my hands, pretty much...

It is a little piece of fiberboard I kept in the tank bag mostly for use in the summer so the kickstand doesn't melt into asphalt. It works the same way on turf.

Couldn't tell from the pic, but I've done similarly -

I carried plywood. A friend carried a small steel plate, which sometimes helped with recalcitrant vehicle detectors at stoplights as well.

I was eyeing that. Would that be a good My First Thunderbird or should I stick with my plan of getting a Epi VP?

I love my Epi VP, truly a wonderful bass, especially at the price. That said I much prefer the thinner necks of my Gibsons, for me they're noticeably easier to play, especially my '89.

I played my EpiBird 5er Sunday at an outdoor gig. Definitely noticed the difference in neck dimensions and, of course, the sound of the P pup. The EB Cobalt flats help, but it sure isn't my 67 Gibby.:rollno:

That seems like a Hell of a deal for a custom made Thunderbird!!! Brad Lowe is a member here and at the Last Bass Outpost. If I hadn't just bought the StatusBird (with a Lowe body) I would jump on that!!
That is a killer deal. Brad is a super nice guy and puts out a quality product. If I had the cash I'd put that in my cart right now.

@bylar13 , hey man how did you used to set the eq on your Peavey Combo 300? I've been running mine into an old Eden D400-T, not quite in love with it, I figure something needs the right tweak. Thoughts there?

Well, I am very unscientific but here goes:

I turn everything up to 10 and engage both boosts (Pre/Post). Then depending on the room I remove what is not working for me. With a T- Bird I usually disengage the Pre/treble boost, keep the Post /Low boost engaged. Then I roll off some the the extreme highs and then work to tighten up the lows usually leaving the mids and low mids close to full on. Hope that helps!

I'll try it! Thanks, I'll be back...
