My local train shop deals with a lot of used Lionel (I don't care for it personally, looks too toy like) and got one of those sets in as part of an Estate sale, easily worth well over a grand to the right lunatic.
Something I shot the other morning, this is a "waffle side" car, used to move lumber and in some cases copper bullion, the "waffles are indentations on the interior of the car that allow for load securement. The model stated as something else similar, I added the waffles and custom painted the car.

Your work is just amazing. You should be signing and dating every piece and placing a dozen or so pieces in an art gallery for display or sale. A place like the Cincinnati Union Terminal that has a museum, gallery, gift shop and has a railroad history, or somewhere in the Southwest. I bet your work would be a big hit.

I'm not gonna ask ya how the Beavers doing. I'm sure others will chime in. :D

And here I wondered if anyone would "go there", surprisingly you beat Jeff to it!

Yes, that's a hell of a deal, if only for the parts.

A previous owner added a Lull pickguard, and it's not a perfect fit.

It's skewed slightly to accommodate the bridge pickup ring, and my necks have headstock adjust truss rods.

Those are Lollar Thunderbirds and all of the metal work including the custom rigs, control plate, and bridge are manufactured by Hipshot.

Here's a photo from the original build:

.....here in Europe you can get a pair of Lollars for the same price...no bass included....

It is. I’ve always admired him for his playing and by all accounts his down to earth, kinda needy relationship with fans. He has a sense of humor too. But that voice.... just can’t lisren to it for very long. Of course no one can listen to mine either so I should shut up.

Despite a desire to go about his business, he always makes time for fans that recognize him.

A lawyer I work with is a huge Rush fan. On her honeymoon (that included attending a show) she saw them in the same restaurant she and her new husband were dining in. After they had finished eating she went up to them and just said that she was a fan - no request for autographs, just wanted to let them know that thier music meant a lot to her and that she and her new husband would be seeing the show. Quickly went back to her table. After Rush left, a very expensive bottle of wine showed up at their table from the band. All just absolute gentlemen who appreciate their fans as much as the fans appreciate them.
