Nice to see that you separate skill and accomplishment as a musician from the music itself. It lacks in some - and probably most of us have been that in our teen years (there is music I like and music that sucks). I echo those feeling with Neil Young - like his songs, but have a strong dislike for him.
I'll amplify your echo!
I don't like his songs that much, certainly not his vocals or instrument playing and I'm not that fond of the man either. I'm sure there are many that like ultra simplistic 3rd grade reader level lyrics played with ultra simplistic chops and sung in a warbling off tone crackely grandmothers voice. But who am I to judge, I can't even sing as "good" as he does.;)

I did my Neil Young rant a few pages back*. Rather than repeat it, everyone that cares can just look it up.

* a few pages back in Thunderbird Club being several thousand pages

Not taking the bait. But I am going to give Ragged Glory a spin before the Dodger game starts in your and Pillo’s honor.

I have huge admiration for GL's bass-playing skills, especially as the band matured, and he does seem like a decent person with a good sense of humor. I also do not care for his voice or their music in general, but fully acknowledge why they are legionary. There's a lot of bands I feel this way about purely because their music has never interested me. Having said this, I quite enjoy this performance - note: even Geddy Lee looks at his fretboard when playing...

There are times when watching my fingers move on the fretboard is is the most interesting thing in the room.

We do one of his songs-"Harvest Moon". Not terrible:meh:

As anyone might guess from the instruments I have listed in my profile, I'm not too shy about adding (multiple) basses to the group!

That's a good point... the truth is I don't really have the reference of which necks (or pickups) I prefer. Ideally I'd be able to go down the Thunderbird Store and try the whole wall! (Is there such a thing? lol)
The VP is amazing, no, incredible--and you'll have some cash left over.

To me his sole redeeming quality is that he's a bit of a train nut.

In 1992 Richard Kughn and musician Neil Young, an avid model railroader, created Liontech, chartered to develop exclusive new model train control and sound systems. Liontech's RailSounds II debuted in 1994.

Singer Neil Young's model trains fetch nearly $300,000 at auction - Reuters

I like the Neil Young even though he nearly hit me driving his late 40's Hudson woody while I was riding my bicycle in the late 90's coming back from playing with his trains at a toy-store in San Mateo. Nobodies perfect.

Yep. Gotta admit, it's hard to get excited over hobbies of the rich and famous. Lol.
I've been a model railroader since I was a kid-with varying degrees of skill-diminishing as my eyesight gets worse. I used to be able to do small detail work like V has shown here. Not so much any more. And prices for decent stuff have skyrocketed. Due to lack of space and my condition(mufunzalo), most of my HO scale models are in boxes.:(

I've got chronic Mufunzalo too, though hopefully I'll get some treatment to "take" at some point down the road.
That condition... shouldn't exist... I'll stop there I guess.

I have the right 6 numbers, the state keeps picking the wrong ones. And, apparently, the Prize Patrol can't find my house.:smug:
