Thunderbird Club

That's usually how i like it..............although, i prefer to be the restrainer, instead on the restrainee. :woot:
Just had to use all the willpower i had to refrain.

You are lying!
That is not what happened last time!

That would be an awesome first or second or third Thunderbird. A VP is also a good idea. Around here, the real answer is both. And probably another one to keep them company.

As anyone might guess from the instruments I have listed in my profile, I'm not too shy about adding (multiple) basses to the group!

I love my Epi VP, truly a wonderful bass, especially at the price. That said I much prefer the thinner necks of my Gibsons, for me they're noticeably easier to play, especially my '89.

That's a good point... the truth is I don't really have the reference of which necks (or pickups) I prefer. Ideally I'd be able to go down the Thunderbird Store and try the whole wall! (Is there such a thing? lol)

It is. I’ve always admired him for his playing and by all accounts his down to earth, kinda needy relationship with fans. He has a sense of humor too. But that voice.... just can’t listen to it for very long. Of course no one can listen to mine either so I should shut up.

I have huge admiration for GL's bass-playing skills, especially as the band matured, and he does seem like a decent person with a good sense of humor. I also do not care for his voice or their music in general, but fully acknowledge why they are legionary. There's a lot of bands I feel this way about purely because their music has never interested me. Having said this, I quite enjoy this performance - note: even Geddy Lee looks at his fretboard when playing...

Nice to see that you separate skill and accomplishment as a musician from the music itself. It lacks in some - and probably most of us have been that in our teen years (there is music I like and music that sucks). I echo those feeling with Neil Young - like his songs, but have a strong dislike for him.

Ditto!
That song might be my favorite Rush tune. For the very reason I've bolded and underscored in your post. AFAIC - with Rush, less is more. Namely, less singing. Love his chops though.
I'm sure I'd go all all suicidal if I had to endure a concert with Geddy singing and Marcus Miller Playing. :dead:

Edit: Geddy singing (lyrics written by Neil Young) and Marcus Miller playing bass.
