I was eyeing that. Would that be a good My First Thunderbird or should I stick with my plan of getting a Epi VP?

Sorry for the delay in replying to you, but as another poster said - Nothing distracts from a Thunderbird!Sharp! Do you feel it takes away from the bass?
Down thisaway, words of one syllable get extended: road becomes roh-udd, fee-ish=fish, bo-ee=boy, guh-rll=girl, etc. I's become ah's:tahm=time. All explained fully by Jeff Foxworthy.
One o' my favorites is "jeetjet"=did ya eat yet?Another quirk. In the South, distance is measured in time."how far is it to Walmart?" "oh, 'bout 15 minutes, give 'er take."
Was there any modification done to the headstock? So this just happened, had a spare set of vintage style reverse clover leafs in the parts box.View attachment 3428740
We do the time for distance thing alsoThat last one is super valid out west. If you're talking actual travel, it makes sense. For now, if you gave that for, say, one of Saturn's moons, it would be silly.
Oh yes,I outgrew mineThe 160 was the biggest/most $ bike I could get financing for at the time. It was fun-and I was much lighter then.
Uh,... no rhyme or reason here.
One of my all time favorites “Strange Brew!”And people from US Eh make fun of the way Canadians speak. What's that aboot? Ya hosers...
How about, “ Brought yer bird widja didja?”One o' my favorites is "jeetjet"=did ya eat yet?Another quirk. In the South, distance is measured in time."how far is it to Walmart?" "oh, 'bout 15 minutes, give 'er take."
I followed those EB instructions when I put Cobalt flats on my VP. Now I get creaking and snapping sounds every time I tune it.Actually I think MCF was following the EB Cobalt instructions to the letter, which I've never done. I insert the string end into the center hole of the tuner then wrap once or twice around the post, insert ball end in the bridge and tighten to pitch with the tuner key. I think they recommend you insert the end of the string in the tuner hole then wrap half way around the post, then route thru the post split and wrap the other direction. Sounds overly complex to me.
The JC is a beast! Lots of fun at high gain!Don't really need to tell you the JC is more attractive to me simply because I already have three solid-body humbucker equipped basses. I have played one in a shop but never bothered to plug it in. It was nicely resonant (probably howls like a three year old if you run it through a RAT).

Thanks! Good word, brother!I've been having a little peaceable revelation, that I'm very lucky, and very enabled to do the things I want to in life, esp. in this context here, as concerns playing music. I've got 4 instruments, each with their own aspect and all of which I enjoy playing; 4 amps (1 for sale, so 3) that all sound good and are in good repair; and some fine people to play music with.
I've got access to tech help, some friends, a decent job... and I know, in a way, you guys here. This little group is a wealth of good information, bad influence and good humor.
I've just been musing at this the last day or two, and it's been liberating. There are other things too, but suffice to keep relevant here I guess.
It's good to not be needy! And when I am, the are ways to overcome that.
Just thought I'd share.
