Thunderbird Club

That was even more painful than the original.

I love both - I met Ernie Fossilius (writer/directer) at a local screening of that movie and he had a very funny back-story. He came up with the "Porklips Now" title purely as a pun on "Apocalypse Now". As a movie industry guy, he was invited and went to a private party at Francis Ford Coppala's ranch/estate north of the Bay Area. At one point he saw FFC and wanted to ask him if he'd seen his parody. Upon approaching him and introducing himself, FFC got angry and cussed him out. -!- He learned later that he had seen his movie and as a kid FFC had big lips and kids used to mock him calling him "pork-lips" !!! EF also made "Hardware Wars", a parody on "Star Wars" with a Princess Lea character with actual cinnamon-buns stuck on both sides of her head. Something similar was done later on SNL but he was the first to do that.

Got em in UK, they are made not too far from my city of birth, LeedsView attachment 3428596

Yeah, some of the white in my personal all sorts come from Hull, Manchester & Hammersmith the other main area in England. Which is pretty odd in itself I guess. But one person from those areas all ended up in NSW, and into my tree.

But more from Ireland (all over Munster pretty much) with a dash of Viking.

(That’s the easy bit, more colours in an allsort.)

I've been having a little peaceable revelation, that I'm very lucky, and very enabled to do the things I want to in life, esp. in this context here, as concerns playing music. I've got 4 instruments, each with their own aspect and all of which I enjoy playing; 4 amps (1 for sale, so 3) that all sound good and are in good repair; and some fine people to play music with.
I've got access to tech help, some friends, a decent job... and I know, in a way, you guys here. This little group is a wealth of good information, bad influence and good humor.
I've just been musing at this the last day or two, and it's been liberating. There are other things too, but suffice to keep relevant here I guess.
It's good to not be needy! And when I am, the are ways to overcome that.

Just thought I'd share.

That's what light weight tuners were invented for. If I had a superfan/wealthy benefactor and was invited to pick the JC or EB3L ... I'd prolly go for the JC.

Both!

I have both. The EB is tuned BEAD and it shakes the concrete basement floor. The JC sits so well with other instruments. Assertive in the low mids, so it gets noticed without taking a dump all over the guitar player's range. I consistently get compliments on the JC sound ('cause it sure ain't the playing).

Now we're talking.

Vuvuzela > @dukeorock's flashest ribbon mic > POG >--- splitter

A > MIKU!!!! > Amp 1

B > RAT >>>> Amp 2

No ring modulator? No Rainbow Machine?

Same, knowing what I know now, I would too. Though I have owned a JC before. It was ok. The EB3L is slightly neck divey, but nothing terrible. Plays great, just haven’t dialed in the sound

Both have a small tendency toward neck dive, but nothing terrible or unmanageable. EB3 is a bit worse. I do love my JC.

Don't really need to tell you the JC is more attractive to me simply because I already have three solid-body humbucker equipped basses. I have played one in a shop but never bothered to plug it in. It was nicely resonant (probably howls like a three year old if you run it through a RAT).

I haven't found that to be an issue unless playing at a loud volume then stand directly in front of the cab very close with no hands on the strings. At home volume, I have never had a feedback issue with or without dirt.

I used my old JC with dirt...don’t remember any issues, but it’s been a minute. Hollow body is a good call in your case, for sure, IMO

Agree. And the JC is a great choice. Especially in red. The gold ones look good too.
