That Thanks much. I'm just getting back to gigging and I have a cheapo lucite Dan Armstrong looking thing. So I'm bringing the Ashbory with me for cool sound and back relief.

    NBD: "Dan Armstrong" Bass COPY

That is! I had heard that but it was the pre internet so follow up was not in the cards. The only time I can remember hearing an original was a record named Belly To The Ground by a band from San Pedro (I think) called Rig. They were like a noisier, rougher semi-industrisal hard-core band...

I like the way you do math.

First Bass… does anyone remember going there?

I dig the thread. But I did not dig that first bass. It was a Carrera. Extra, extra import solid body. One J style pickup. I emphasize style. The thing was neck heavy. The body was balsa wood. I chipped the headstock almost immediately with a floor tap. It sounded like nothing. It was...

I flip the bass around in the bag and have no problems with G breakage. Save one string but that came w/bass so I don't count it. Lol

I wrote above not too long back when I first got the bass. I have yet to replace the parts but I have noticed a few things. The frets are nothing to write home about. I still have the original rounds (stock) on the thing. The sustain is really good. Always been an Issue with the exception of...

If you wind that E on the other way you'll keep it from popping out which it will. Never tried the strings. I'm buying up as many OG strings as I can. Are those strings any good?

I didn't know that. About the pickup. I did see a guy who used a compound bow case and fixed up the inside. That was pretty intense.

I've always been on the fence about the Guild/deArmond/Fender/Ashbory crux. The Guild I think matches up about the same thought it has shortcomings. The tuners are modified banjo tuners. The tuners can be prone to breakage. I've heard of people using dimes to tune them. But they have a cool...

I don't know about the number but I'd been lusting after one since '95 and finally got one in 2015. Quite the wait! I run mine through my grandfather's (RIP) dinosaur 200W Peavy and 1x15. I'll probably be running a Boss 'octave' pedal and synth pedal. I also have a steel string I gig with too...
