Flats on a modern active bass

I've got Chromes on my L-2500 and they sound just fine. I bought the super long scale ones.

The iOS bass player thread, PART II. (Jamup XT, Audiobus, Multitrack DAW and more)

Subscribed. I've been following Rip on facebook and Duke on Soundcloud and digging their sounds. I've got JamUp with the bass expansion through the iRig, but I am not happy with the results. Too much noise, low-end output diminished by the unit's filter. Planning to pull the trigger on Apogee...

    Why the Road Worn hate?

I would like to have a Classic 50's MIM with nitro, so that I can beat it up myself. No need to "age" at the factory, and I assume that the cost could be reasonable (between classic series and road worn).

Your favorite nickel plated roundwound strings

D'addario EXL170-5SL are some of the only strings I can find at an affordable price that are long enough for my L-2500, the quality is very good & they break in nicely.

Wishbass Club part 9: We don't need a reason!

49 - You did an excellent job with the Fantasy bass. Quite shiny and slick!

SOLD FS: Ibanez ATK 300 Red Sparkle

If I had the money, I'd buy it from you & pick it up.

    ATK's on clearance at MF.

Great deal, but I'm interested in holding out & seeing what they do with the ATK in the future. I'd like to see wider string spacing and maybe a lighter wood.

    G&L TRIBUTE Club #1

I have a natural '04 L-2500 with maple fretboard, made in Korea, photo already posted on a different G&L thread. The only thing "unique" is that little bits of the wood have come up on the very end of the fretboard, and I can only suppose that the strings were digging down on it at some point...

    GREEN squier five-string jazz?

This was a limited edition color, I'm guessing right around 2002 or '03. You would probably take a real gamble buying anything Squier produced in that time period (and even now there's still some risk you'll end up with a clunker, mass produced overseas as they are)

    New bass day: G&L content

Lowfreq: I ordered through Musician's Friend, have you tried going that way? They have a number of payment options, even Paypal, and free (standard) shipping is not so bad either.

    The 5-String Club

They are incredible, and the reviews are almost universally in favor of them. So many tonal options, mostly a thicker modern sound than a classic tone IMO. It is a bit heavy, and I need a strap with more padding to help...but along with mass you get a larger sound. Giant bridge, too. I bought...

    New bass day: G&L content

I put my new strings on, no problemo. Took me 15 minutes, I'm guessing. There was a significant amount of string to wrap on the B & G posts, but it all went around, and it always feels incredible to have a clean set of roundwounds on. These were the 5SL strings, BTW.

    The 5-String Club

Invalid Link Removed One of the last years they were made in Korea, I think ('04)
