Your favorite nickel plated roundwound strings

Hartke 105-45 light. I have used everything from Ernie Ball Super Slinky to Rickenbacker Stock strings for my Ric. The Hartkes, at 3 sets for less than a set of Slinky is a no brainier. I use them on a P bass and my new G&L 2000. They sound bright and full....what's more...they LAST.

I highly recommend that you try a set.

I second the Labella Slappers. After trying Rotosound swing bass nickels, D'adarrio XL-170, Ernie Ball Slinkys and GHS Boomers I chose the slappers because of the feel and tension. The slappers are very bright initially but evenually mellow out over time simular to the sound of broken in GHS Boomers.

Since my last post, I've installed some DR Lo-Rider nickels on my G&L JB, and I love them. I bought another set today. They will become my "go to" J-bass string since the demise of Fender's previous 8250 version. I may continue with Fat Beams on my SB-2.

What do you mean by demise? They are still being sold? Have they changed their composition or something?

Labella slappers on musicman sr5 and ghs pressurewounds on vintage p bass. The slappers intonate perfectly and stay in tune well, they have a little more tension ,the Bstring is like a cannon. The pressurewounds is like playing a nickel flatwound if they made them. tone is great on both

Don't laugh...CARVIN! Made by LaBella. Great strings and only $15/set new plus the ride. I usually buy three sets at a time and that comes in for about $50.

Can't beat it. All I've used for years.

I'm currently trying LaBella Slappers again. I usually use D'Addario XL's or GHS Boomers. Ernie Ball Slinkys are good as well IMO.

Are Carvin's nickel plated roundwounds LaBella Slappers with Carvin packaging? Great price IMO.
