I don’t believe I knew that’s was why he called them that. I even had one myself. And with its natural burst, I now think it’s kinda funny, because it sorta looked like it it was in a fire.
Your blood red one looks amazing. I remember when you got it.
-29F. So far I think I’ve won this horrible horrible contest. Had the car warmed up before I put the bass inside, though.
God was great worship was awesome. We had a pretty packed house despite the cold, since one of our other sites had a pipe freeze and burst. Not ideal, but it was great to...
Hi all. Been a while. I was recently consolidating things into an HX Effects. Not a hugely onerous job but I wish I had found the pedal train app before resorting to physically experimenting with configuration and spacing.
Am I the only one that didn’t know about this app?
I have/play upright (poorly), but I’m specifically asking about electric and that characteristic electric mwah. I agree there is an acoustic mwah too, but it’s slightly more subtle than what I’m wanting to experiment with here.
Thanks everybody for the advice (@kirkdickinson, @IronSpatula...
Salutations brothers!
I’ve been offline line for a bit and am still 696 posts behind in my catch-up of the best on going talkbass thread in the world. I have a bit of a time sensitive ask, however, and I doubt it’s been asked recently, since I don’t really recall it being asked previously when...
Merry Christmas, all my Dingwall brothers and sisters!
Last night Christmas Eve office shot:
The SJ was only called on for 1/8 songs, but it was a gooder!
Peace, y’all
That’s -31 in Merican (degF).
Merry Christmas everyone!

Definitely made several (fairly non-catastrophic) mistakes in both services, but still had an awesome time with a great team that happened to include my daughter on vocals.
Very similar to this one that also started life as a J.
It’s was modded before it came to me, and it was a factory route job, too. As I mentioned when I posted pics of my new SJ, this should be going up for sale soon. It’s hard to let go of, though!
What a beautiful Sklar! You jumped into the deep end of the Dingwall pool with that one! I waded in slowly with a combustion NG, and am into Canadian models now, but haven’t gotten as deep as anything like this with Z specs.
If you’re in his area and can make an appointment, I’d recommend you pop in to see John Fox Bass and check out what he has on hand, especially if you’re at all curious about Dingwalls. I think he has a difficult time keeping them on the shelf, but he might have some not for sale floor models...
We’ve had WT members leave our church because we play Bethel fairly often (and probably Planetshakers, too). It was recently on my mind again, and we happen to be doing a sermon series on Philippians where I noticed this verse which felt relevant:
“But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives...
I think this might sorta qualify.
Maybe a bit too Mark Knopfler-ish to be Bossa. The band did an awesome job of this one. Coincidentally it’s from the same Christmas set as the ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain’ video I just posted. I was pretty out of my element and overwhelmed by the genre, so my...
I was asked to do the chord sheet mark up for this song for the band for Christmas Eve. This arrangement was recommended, but was given full freedom. I know I’ll be bringing the upright so I might reprise a version we did 2 years ago.
We’ll likely have a smaller band, so it might be easier.
