Someone tell me of a conversation with a loud playing drummer/guitar player where they were told they play too loud and how they listened and everything was better afterwards. Somewhere in the world I am thinking this may have happened once.

I agree. Like a lot of the towns along the Ohio River, East Liverpool, Ohio was a swinging place. The town was known for its pottery products. Homer Laughlin China still exists and makes Fiesta Ware plates and cups but all the other potteries that employed loads of folks have long closed down...
