When i play with my fingers sometimes i have an issue where ill pluck and youll hear the sound of the string hitting the fretboard. i was wondering if this is a set up issue or if i can fix it

Im upgrading the good ol Squier Classic vibe to be more to my liking. my question is, what kind of brdges would make a good replacement. I only want the best for this upgrade, second, I was curious if a Rickenbacker 4003 bridge would work, i may come off as a noob, but its just curiosity
