A lot of mixing up active pickups and active pre-amps. Infact only like 5% or less of all bass pickups out there is active, pre-amps is a different story.

I have a 2012 MIJ one in oly white. Is well made for sure, good fretjob, paint and nice and narrow neck pocket. Never played an american special or CV but i think thease sounds pretty good with the stock mic. The neck is the thinner p-bass profile 1.62 i think. Pretty good hardware aswell, only...

Olympic white with black or red tort Pg. Looks especially good when the white has aged and gotten more yellow.

I just switched to an high mass bridge on my Fender P-bass and since the bridge it both thicker then the original and with larger saddles i need a shim at the body end of the neck pocket to get decent action. Never shimmed a neck before, is it anything i need to think off? and what would work...

A Grey pearl pickguard might look good on that color.
