Wow looks like you guys have talked alot since I last checked this post. I have tried a bent metal endpin, and other things that try and get the same effect as drilling your bass, but nothing can really compare to how natural and vibrant my instrument feels with the wooden endpin I have...

The bourees from the 3rd suite have been really fun. I'm playing them in G, and I think this has become somewhat standard for bassists to do.
