    i'm with the guy that said all you need is a fender P bass and a good set of flats :P the only other thing is not to change them haha! Jamerson says its the dirt in the strings that keeps the funk

    GHS Flats

    GHS are good for flats :P if you happen to have a freltess I recommend a set of GHS halfrounds :) you get bright harmonics out of them and a great double bass sort of sound.
