Hey bassybill! I have some EMGs on my P-bass... definitely an upgrade from stock. Question though... my bass has the Fender S-1 switching system. With the EMGs being active, wouldn't I have to remove those electronics in order to install them?

Hi, I have a new fretless MIA Jazz Bass... stock, no modifications whatsoever so far. I need to upgrade the pickups badly. They'll be used for DAW recording only (monitor buzz, etc.) so I'm probably looking for active models. Suggestions? Thanks!

By the way... won't roundwounds screw up the rosewood fretboard?

Just a note... the strings height is fine. I adjusted the intonation after I received it. Like I said, I had to adjust the saddles almost to the back of the bridge which seemed strange. So yes, that could be an indication of a bad neck adjustment, whether factory or shipping induced. :)

Just picked up a new MIA Fretless Jazz Bass... The "mwah" sound is non existent.. not good :hmm: The pickups sound very dry (unlike the EMGs on my P-bass).. need to change them :crying: And finally, the intonation was really off. I adjusted it a bit but ended up bringing the saddles...

Just got this in and boy "Is she a beaut!" A quick question regarding the fretboard... Do I play "on the lines" or "between the lines"? The side dot markers are right on the lines so I assume that's where the closest intonation will be found. Thanks!

Hey thanks for all the info.. Here's where I'm confused. I can't seem to find a "Genuine Fender" 10 hole tortoise design.... only the '62 vintage 11 hole (with extra thumbrest and PU cover holes). Anyone have a link to these? I'd rather buy a Fender PG if I can. Thanks...

I bought a new AM Fender Fretless Jazz bass last weekend. Sunburst with rosewood fretboard... looks nice and plays even better. I'd like to replace the parchmont pickguard with a tortoise style. Has anyone ever purchased from this company on eBay...

Do you use a .125 gauge "B" as your first string? Any nut adjustments on the fretless?

Good point... the Fender Jazz V 5-string uses a 34" scale so I would think it would be alright. Looking at a MIA Jazz fretless on another page right now... God she's beautiful!
