Why would you want to cheat in an audition recording? Won't you get found out in the live audition?

I don't think he's asking your personal opinions of whether or not he should get one, he's asking if professionally, this is a bad idea.

What I meant is, when you audition for an orchestra, you risk spending a lot of money and not leaving with a job.

It seems like we can't really have an opinion about it as none of us were there to hear these auditions. As someone else said, even the best players can have off days.

That's just a risk you have to take when auditioning...unfortunately.

Well said, couldn't agree more. I'm really happy when my friends in my studio win jobs. But I know very well it's because of their own hard work, not because of the school they chose.

Have you looked at the results of the other recent auditions? For example, Dallas and National? Those pay considerably more than Alabama, were there IU people in the finals? Not saying anything against IU, but Alabama is one isolated case. IU is a good school, but it is just one of many. IU...
