A few months ago i replaced the stock bridge on my MIM fender jazz with a gotoh 201. Couldnt be happier with the improvement. Recently i decided to spice up my bass. I ordered a new pickguard and a bridge cover. Basically, since the gotoh bridge is slightly bigger than the stock bridge...

what size screws should i use for this

What can i do to keep the screws in my bass from rusting, i.e. in the pickguard? I can also see some rust starting to develop on the metal of the pickups. thanks!

i realize that the "feel" will be affected, but will i still be able to slap /pop?

I've been trying to find an alternative to buying a fender tweed case for my fender jazz as the cases are pretty pricey. If anyone knows of a cheap alternative (hard shell) please let me know.
