I got a Epiphone EB3 and its awesome.

Loved my EB3 when i had it. I upgraded my bridge pickup to the rickenbacker seymour duncan replacement pickup for a little extra attack - worked a treat. However, i only had an epiphone eb3 so i'm not sure if the gibson bridge pickup

Do most pros use boring color basses?

Personal preference in the end. A lot of famous japanese famous bassists have zany designs/colors. I myself use a honey flamed maple top lakland or my edwards pink flame maple top lakland copy when i am gigging. Great sounding gear and looks great in the photos!

Check out second hand used instrument shops too. There are always cool guitars/basses/pedals there too

    Fender Rumble for Home Recording

The rumble 40 is said to have the best tone out of the rumble series. People say the rumble 100 is boxy sounding by comparison. The fender rumble studio 40 might be even better for your purpose (and if you like to use effects etc) due to all the patches to further sculpt your sound for recordings

    After a hiatus I bought a Fender Rumble 40.

Apparently it is the best tone out of the rumble range. Great choice! i hope to try one some day.

    Looking for a practice amp

Which fender rumble combo did you try? a lot of people say the rumble 40 is the best sounding. the rumble 100 is said to be boxy sounding but I think it is fairly versatile with its EQ

Buyer wants to return bass. Is this really a truss rod problem?

You're a private seller. Not a store with a return policy. It is up to you whether you want to take it back. You dont know what has been done to it ever since it left you i think the replacement nut + maybe an extra hundred or something will suffice already - you're doing it out of good will...

Fretting with pinky - what if I can't?

I don't think it will be a problem. Granted you will be disadvantaged while starting out but practice makes perfect. you'll be fine once you adjust

Bass player's role in the band

Thanks for the replies, everyone. We are a cover band but I like to change things up from the original bass lines unless it's an iconic bass line. I.e. adding extra fills, playing melodically when it feels right, moving registers and so on. Perhaps the guitarist and I will need to change both...

Bass player's role in the band

Trust me, if anyone has a hard time keeping rhythm between us two, I can guarantee it's not me Thank you! I guess it's understandable but what can we do when someone is absent ‍♂️

Bass player's role in the band

I am curious what people in the band have defined their bass player role as. The other day while at band rehearsal, my guitar player was saying that without the keys playing with us (he is away for one of our upcoming gigs), there's no one to play rhythm while he's playing lead. I then...

    Fender jazz bass info?

If it plays and feels like a keeper and not something you think you'll upgrade from eventually, then no worries. just dont expect 600 dollars back if you ever try to sell it. I would personally still return it under the false pretence even if it's an okay player. Or ask for a cheaper price

Storing bass cases is a pain.

I leave them in their cases on a rack next to my computer work space. It's tight but at least it doesnt interfere with the rest of the house. I've seen people store their cases under their beds. I'd probably do that if i couldnt leave them out

    Memorizing songs?

It's a tough call when music isnt their full time job. I'm in the same boat as you (despite having 2 jobs too) and memorise my basslines too. nonetheless, it just doesnt matter to some people anymore. General consensus nowadays is that it doesnt matter as long as the band is lively, looking at...

Help me to be heard in a gig haha!

Rumble 100 is fantastic for band rehearsals but probably not the best standalone at a small gig (unless you have PA to help you out). My Fender rumble 800 does the job quite well without a cab. However, I do own a 2x10 cab for those outdoor situations. Nonetheless, a fender rumble 500 alone...
