    Fender pre-CBS Club: pics mandatory!

Yeah, mine only has the 4/59 under the pickup, so technically it could've been a later model as well, it seems the one consistent message out there is that serial numbering and dates are quite a mess early on at Fender..... If you don't mind sharing, what are the first two digits of your...

Wow! looks awesome, I'm surprised with the date marking on the neck as most early 59's don't have dates marked there but do have is on the body (pick-up cavity). Again I quote from Vintage Guitar Info on Fender neck dates (Vintage Guitars Info - Fender, collecting vintage guitars fender...

That should be correct and if I may quote from the "The Fender bass - an illustrated history" by Black & Molinaro on page 38: 'In 1960, Fender added the strap button to the back of the Jazz and Precision headstocks. (Traditional players used this button to help strap the bass vertically...

I guess the colour has to do with the way I adjusted my images, it's not a roasted neck, but it does show some flames when viewed from certain angles. That's quite clever as well, unfortunately I don't have that option...

The foam under the ashtray is still in tact and I want to play the bass once in a while, but I don't want to foam in interfere so I had this acrylic 'spacer' cut out and screwed it under the ashtray. Since the acrylic is quite soft it won't damage the pain and I can just keep it mounted, but...

    Fender pre-CBS Club: pics mandatory!

Well, this ol' lady turned 60 this year (in April)! Haven't posted pictures in many years (I was originally #3 club-member here, haha) and thought I'd share some new images taken today afternoon.

    Fender Custom Shop Club

Haven't posted in quite a long time! The weather was super nice (but hot) today so I decided to take out a couple of my instruments for some photo's, try out the new camera a flash set as well. This is my 2012 (I think) limited edition '58 with some sort of relic'ing, I forgot which kind, I've...

NEW FENDER PRECISION BASS - OPINIONS

Gold anodized will give you that 58~59 vintage look, if that's your cup of tea, but then your white blonde is perhaps a little too white for a gold guard, it's a tough one!

NBD - Rob Allen Deep 4 fretless

Yeah, I saw that, very tempted before I ordered mine, but I'm keeping everything new incoming to 4 strings....

NBD - Rob Allen Deep 4 fretless

Finally! I't been like a year or 4 ago since I bought my last bass (I'm not a gear head by any means) and what triggered me this time was both the guitarists in my band started getting into acoustic guitars and wanted to play an "unplugged" set.....which is my excuse to the wife anyway...

    Fearful thread part 15 (/6?)

Finally, after having this idea for over 1 year, I got my own 12/6/1. Only had a few minutes of play time since I received it, but I think it's going to be a keeper. It's not the prettiest cab by far, but I love how light it is and how "transparent" it sounds. Now I have a super compact rig...

Official Markbass Club - the beat goes on, and on....

Ever since I got my tube heads, I haven't found any use for the SD1200 which I got together with my two 104HF's. So finally I got a small cabinet to make a small but powerful rig. I must say, from the initial few minutes of playing, I think the SD1200 set completely flat matches quite well...
