    I found this..

Yes I read somewhere that they drop a lot randomly from one to the other

    I found this..

yeah I have read here that the pickups can be weaker and some can be stronger in ohms. The pickup I’ve found is 11ohms so should be fine! I am torn between which sound I like as the bridge pickup is more fat sounding whereas the P has more of a passive growl to it and I leave the P soloed more...

    I found this..

In a local pawn shop that has piles of vintage or neglected instruments I stumbled across this bad boy. it’s a 1987 made in Japan Charvel 3b, and I’m blown away by how good it sounds. first of all I’m not sure what pickup the previous owner has installed but it sounds like a polar opposite...

MEC twin jazz wiring for toggle switch

Hey Stewart! do you have the exact model you used? I have a Warwick bootsy with a twin jazz in the bridge I want to add a switch in for so would be good to know! Is it as simple as just having an ON/ON/ON switch

    I bought this..

I couldn’t hold back on this purchase, bootsy taught me the way of playing funk on bass and after actually playing it I was blown away by how good it sounds. So here we have the Warwick Bootsy Collins Artist Series Space Bass Don’t be fooled, it says made in China, but this is the best Chinese...

Let’s see your modded up, cheap plywood or first ever basses

Here’s my 1987 marlin sidewinder bass, a natural relic It had okay playability and very average passive tone. As expected the hardware is nasty, worst tuners I’ve ever used and the pickups and electronics we’re awful. So, I jammed an EMG P in it and an EMG 35DC, then following that I added a...

Fender Deluxe P Bass - has anyone made mods to this model?

I do love this bass but since purchasing a Spector euro and Japanese jazz bass special I’m not seeing much use for it. the things I have picked on (even though it is a fantastic instrument): - the bridge pickup sounds thin and doesn’t add a lot when both pickups are blended together - the mid...

    Is this a good find?

That thing looks nasty. I wouldn’t jump for one of those, the lack of painted neck and F logo knobs put me off for some reason. It definitely looks like a more basic standard compared to the 80s machines

    Is this a good find?

The competition between these 2 is strange. The Japanese one just has something the Mexican doesn’t, and that’s a deluxe p bass full of extra features. I’m genuinely surprised how different they both are

    Is this a good find?

I got this for £440, something told me it was a good investment if I ever sold it

    Is this a good find?

I made a mistake on the original comment, it’s actually a 1984 bass as the serial reads A002684 on the neck plate

    Is this a good find?

I don’t know why anyone would mod these, the pickups are irreplaceable

    Is this a good find?

this one is the most perfect blend of PJ I’ve come across yet, with fresh rotosounds it sounds just like duff McKagans tone. I have a deluxe Mexican p bass with a 3 band active EQ and I’m more attached to what a maxed TBX can do

    Is this a good find?

Found this 1985 serial MIJ “PJ” bass. It’s not a jazz bass special but seems exactly like one! Anyone know much about them? the pole pieces in the pickups are huge and as a result the bass sounds really really punchy, very impressed with the TBX as well for a passive bass it’s got a lot of...
