    Steinberger-style Pivot Plate?

I've just received one of MPUs reproduction pivot plates. Wow, perfect!

Got one on Marko's reproduction support plates the other day. Perfect piece, just beautiful! Now to source the mounting parts and get it on the guitar.

I have a HAZ XL25 setup here somewhere...buried under tons of antique transmitter and receiver parts...be fun to make those work!

    Headless Club???

The new toy, from the latest run. Superb fit and finish, but the same crappy washers between the tuners and the knurled knobs.

    Headless Club???

Mibne came from the supplier dry, I packed them up with the blue goo I use on my Jag's wheel bearings...good advice!

    Headless Club???

Funny...I made the same observation with my new Spirit 5, and used the same thrust bearings! Brilliant bassists think alike!

Well, I had to do it! The neck is quite a bit wider than my XL25's was, but comfortable. Fit and finish is surprisingly good right out of the box!

No, it will be here tomorrow. They drop shipped the case from Nashville.

Thought it was going to be NBD today, but instead it was just the new 'berger hard case from Gibson.

    Why don’t you play a six-string bass?

I went 5 low-B in the mid-1980s, and moved to the Steinie 5 in '90. 18s on the bottom, 2x8 + a titanium horn up top, biamped with a GK RB-800. Once I played it, the "why a five" question stopped. 13.5mm string spacing. I managed to get a mid-generation TL-Six custom (after 1st gen, before 2nd)...

Losing my mind...someone, somewhere...and I think it was here, was making a decent reproduction of the XL2's back swivel plate...I can't seem to track it down, though...any hints?

Ahhh, found a better shot of old 6922. Work basses from back in the day; first gen TL-Six on the left, narrow spaced 5 string 'Berger on the right.
