Had a feeling the situation was something like that. Found a number of companies that sell tolex head cases in different styles. Just thought there may be some way to get one of those before I went with one of the other options I found... Thanks for the replies

Anybody have experience with swapping out the stock tube in the LH500?

Close to making a purchase and have narrowed it down to these 2 amps. Was leaning towards the Carvin until I began seeing reviews that the tube preamp in the BX500 was nothing more than a marketing component and made no difference when engaged. What I'm after is more towards a warm, vintage tone...
