I bought my Distortion+ new in 1975. The foam in the box is still as it should be, but the internal foam started to suffer about five years ago, here's as it is now;

This one used to be my favourite; I still use it, but now I go for one of these;

I borrowed this Vox Clubman Bass from a friend in 1978, although it has not had much play in the last 20 years it still has the original strings (I think Rotosound flats), nothing wrong with them.
