Has anybody had any more information on that "fake set neck" ? This is haunting me (I have a 2008 HCT 500/1). This fellow has used a Contemporary neck to put on a German body and it fits (with a lot of teaking). In his case it's a "regular" dovetail joint.

If you just need to clean and oil the fretboard, it doesn't have to cure. Wipe it on, wipe it off within minutes. When it's dry to the touch, you can re-string the instrument. If you want to finish your fretboard in BLO, it's a completely different story, with longer drying time, then sanding...

Are you sure your target for Flatwound strings use 35" scale-zero nut, etc. ? Especially since GHS Flats are vintage thumpers...While more and more manufacturers try the "versatile/modern" argument, only GHS, Labella and Pyramid do "real" flatwound. (Maybe DR also but I've never tried them)...
