Help with Hipshot Triple-Lock Down [single string] bridge

Yeah, I would be giving them exact depth measurements by going from the hipshot design diagram, and I would be very careful to mark EXACTLY where I want the saddles to be. I think that that's how I'm going to do this, but I'm going to talk to the woodworking shop first. So, My plan for the...

Help with Hipshot Triple-Lock Down [single string] bridge

I've been thinking about having a luthier do just this bridge rout, and it seems like the skills involved in luthiere are wasted on one simple piece of woodworking, so not I'm wondering about taking it to a local woodshop. The person in question would have access to every tool under the sun, in...

Help with Hipshot Triple-Lock Down [single string] bridge

I like the fact that it makes stringing thru-body protected by an easily replaceable part, as opposed to the body itself holding against the strings, and the look of them is just amazing. I'd also like to add that while I could rout it all myself, I'd really rather have someone else do it for...

Help with Hipshot Triple-Lock Down [single string] bridge

Hey everyone, I'm building a bass warmoth-style, but using USACG. Anyway, USACG can do everything I want EXCEPT rout for the Hipshot Triple-Lock Down [single string] bridge. Now, at first I tried looking for a new bridge to pick, but I'm really not going to be happy without this one. So, I...

Who can build this? [custom bass idea, need luthier advice]

Alright, well, I got my e-mail back from USACG, and they can make the neck the way I want but they don't offer the Triple lockdown bridge. I checked at Warmoth again and they no longer offer it either, so now I'm stuck. Does anyone know of a body builder who will rout for the Hipshot Triple...

Who can build this? [custom bass idea, need luthier advice]

UPDATE: Checked out USACG, very convenient because they're in my state, sent them an e-mail with the specs on the neck and body from this post, hopefully they can build all this. New question: On the USACG bass neck order form, it asks what thickness and contour you want. Selecting...

1,000 Reasons To Date Bass Players

I like to look at it this way: The drummer is always pounding it out. The guitarist feels a pretty extreme need to be flashy and draw attention [compensation?] It seems the bassist is the only one sure enough of himself to just chill out and be cool about it.

Thoughts on the Orange CRUSH Pix series [the 100watt 4-band EQ specifically]

I also saw that thread, problem is that it was started before this amp released, meaning there's only speculation, I am really looking for a conversation with someone who has used it.

Thoughts on the Orange CRUSH Pix series [the 100watt 4-band EQ specifically]

Hey guys, I've been playing with the idea of getting a new amp, and bieng the Orange amps fanboy that I am, I went ahead and looked at their Terror head and other stuff, and came to the realization that as cool as it would be to have a $3000 Amp setup, I can really only afford $500 on an amp...

What kind of bridge do you like?

Mostly looks, but I really love Hipshot's single-string bridges. They also let me do a string-through really easily, but it's mostly looks.

PJ wiring opinions [HUGE poll, help me narrow it down]

Really? I didn't know that. Could you draw me a diagram of it? Also, new idea for signal path: V-selector switch-V-super switch-T-Jack super switch is an on-off-on toggle top = to tone knob middle = kill switch [thus eliminating the need for a master volume, as that's what I use...

PJ wiring opinions [HUGE poll, help me narrow it down]

Okay, how about a MM/P/J with all 3 having a volume and a 3-way switch for series/parallel/off leading to a stacked master tone and volume? My main question is how the switch would work, I'm imagining a 3-way toggle where the top is series, the bottom is parallel, and the middle is off...
