Ubiquitous- help me pick an amp/cab

Well, this is part of one of teh gear rooms . Mostly custom shop Fender and Gibson stuff in here, the closet is L shaped and around the corner is a whole wall of amps and the acoustics (Taylors and Martins) and a 12-piece drum kit. The new berg on the middle.

Ubiquitous- help me pick an amp/cab

Hey you know that feeling you get when you put on a coat or pair of jeans and you reach in the pocket and fine $20? Well I was digging though one of my gear rooms looking for some pedals and found a brand new Fender American Std P-bass and a Fender Rumble 200 1x15 both unused and the amp was...

Ubiquitous- help me pick an amp/cab

Question: if you don't gig, why do you want an 800 watt amp? Get a 350 watt unit. You'll likely not even use that much power. And for a cabinet a 1x12" will be plenty in the home. Go 2x10" if you want a bit more capability. Advice: make sure you understand ohm ratings and cabinet efficiency so...

Ubiquitous- help me pick an amp/cab

I know 800 watts is pushing it but I do like the added feature sets of the Magellan 800 over the 350 such as tuner port a pedal loop. Will the Mesa or Genzler 350 take pedals OK in front ok. In the guitar world some will and some wont.....

Ubiquitous- help me pick an amp/cab

Hey TB community looking for a cabinet(s) and head(s) I played bass for 4 years about 30 years ago and American Deluxe Jazz and 15" Fender BXR combo. I got out of music for a good long stint and started playing again except on guitar. I'm a lucky man because my wife plays guitar (5x better than...

    New dude intro

Hi, new member. I played bass from 97-2001. Got out of music then started playing guitar and collecting them. My wife now plays guitar and is better than I am. My youngest son in interested in keyboards and my older son started on drums. So that leaves me to moving to bass, which is not a bad...

    Lack of iconic bass amps?

I don't know if comparing amps to typewriters is an apples-to-apples comparison. As amps are still widely used typewriters are not. But who know maybe in twenty years everyone will be using modelers and DI, I know bassist and guitarist that just use DI.

    Lack of iconic bass amps?

Arguably it seems that compared to guitar amps, bass amps do not seem to have as much impact or legacy as their guitar brethren. Outside of the SVT, there doesn't seem to be long-lasting heavy weights in the bass industry that stood the test of time and continue to be icons. An example would be...
