I started noticing about 10 years ago that folks just werent hanging around until one or two in the morning the way they use to, we would get up for the third set ready to kick ass with our best stuff to cap the night and the place would be half empty. Personally I dont mind getting home early...

heres a crazy idea, get a cover without foam ...or if you like that muted tone just get a piece and put it under the strings , and also under the cover instead of that top piece pressing down. If that doesnt fix the issue take it to a professional to see if there is another issue happening

yesterday morning the AQI here was 324 , thats pretty bad, then I heard later that in ELY , mn. where the fires are close by it was north of 1500. There is a air quality station at our local municipal airport, apparently the average summer day has between 8 to 15 parts per Ml. particulate...

Great for recording, I can only think of one time I saw someone using one live...was Mark Egan with Pat Metheney back in the 70's . I guess if your looking for that sound the two previous posts are a good place to start

Depends on what your neck will tolerate, I have 760 FL's on my old P bass and LTF's on a more modern jazz that at one time also had 760 FL's , I think your good with either. I personally prefer the sound and feel of Labella over chromes and a few others but thats me.
