Well, it's strike 2 with Sire basses. The neck pickup went out on this after 15-20hrs playtime. Its going back to Sweetwater for repair. Now I'm thinking tthis is a good time to go ahead and replace the pickups. I have $100 credit with SW, so why not. Any suggestions for a drop in replacement...

Just picked up a V5. So far, so good. Sorry, not the best pic. I just added the pickup cover. I like it. Any suggestions where to get a tort guard?

Your thoughts on the V5. I bought a P7 and had issues with the preamp within 60 days. Long story but now I have a credit at Sweetwater that burning a hole in my pocket. Love the mild green but wish it had a tort guard. Oh well. Maybe someone here can tell where to get one.

Well, I went a different route and rubbed it down good with guitar polish and it slicked right up and isn't sticky at all. Played for a couple of hrs with no issues. I'll keep polishing it for now.

I have a 210 and a 112. I am currently using the 112 with my 500C and am loving it.

Sweetwater sent me a label and they already have the bass. They had one left and offered to switch that out. It was 10 lbs, though and I didn't want anything that heavy. Look forward to getting my bass back. Hopefully theses pre-amps aren't a problem and it pukes out again.

This has a mahogany back and an ash top, so it's going to be lighter than an all ash body.

Definitely Jazz. Maybe even thinner than a Jazz. Very comfortable, though. I've always liked thinner necks.
