Using, and stacking, QSC K12s for bass amplification?

I've been playing my NS Designs electric upright for small local gigs lately, and I put it through a K8.2. It's not easy to tweak the EQ on it, but I got it dialed in so it sounds nice.

    Quilter? Anybody know this brand?

I got to play through one of the prototypes on some gigs some years ago before they were released. Being a techie guy used to graphics and parametrics, I didn't like the EQ controls … until I tried them. I dialed in a great tone in about 8 seconds. And there was pleanty of gain and power, even...

    QSC K12.2

Bass amp mode is for an instrument plugged directly into Input 2. You'll be better off using one of the other modes that accepts line-level inputs. Try Derfault.

How many amps do you guys own?

My BBE preamp is the 383, and its compressor is not to my liking. I've actually bypassed the dbx for the time being until I can put it on the bench (where I already have a couple other projects), because I seemed to be getting some distortion recently.

How many amps do you guys own?

A rig : BBE pre, dbx comp/limiter, QSC PLX1602 anp, EV B1150M cab B rig : Acoustic 136 combo C rig : Crate 35-watt combo In recent years I've added an A-and-a-half rig, with the BBE and dbx feeding a QSC K10.2 powered loudspeaker

    QSC K12.2

Yes, default. EQ is not easy to set on the menu of the K.2 loudspeakers, so you might want to use EQ on your preamp or other gear. A high-pass filter would be good to set on the loudspeaker, at the very least.

    QSC K12.2

Bass amp mode is for an instrument plugged directly into Input 2. For use with a preamp, use the K12.2 in NORMAL mode, not as a bass amp, and plug into either input. Only turn it up all the way if your preamp's output level capability is really low. Most preamps put out a decent signal level...

Class AB / Class D ratings?

Not necessarily. "RMS" power is only a colloquialism. RMS properly applies to voltage or current, not power, but it's sort of been applied for decades by marketing departments to describe power calculated from RMS voltage measurements into a defined load resistance. There is no time definition...

In the US, the letter Z is pronounced ZEE … except in ham radio (and some other radio communications). We use ZED, like most of the rest of the English speaking world, because it's one less letter to sound like G or T or C, et al.

That was one of the things I liked about living in California. If I was low on gin and needed a prescrption filled, I could take care of my needs at CVS or Walgreens. Or I could get everythng I need to make White Russians and more at any supermarket.

Polish is full of consonant clusters. Hearing family members speaking Polish when I vsited there eight years ago reminded me of the Three Stooges trying to go through a door at the same time. The consonants all converged in the mouth and managed to get squeezed out in the correct order with nary...

You can buy legit Neutrik Speakon and other connectors on Amazon. Just stay away from the imitation and "lookalike" stuff.

What’s the downside of Class D amps?

Do you know what model? Sensitivity to line voltage is not an amp class issue but one of power supply design. And not all models of class D or class AB are the same.
