I called Quilter today to ask about the 803. Not sure who I spoke to, but he said the 803 should be available in 'a few months' in a very non-committal tone of voice.

He also said the 803 'should' fit into the combo cabs.

Perhaps you may have heard of Pat Quilter's other company, Quilter Sound Company? AKA QSC.

He also invented the quilt - that's where it got its name.

My favorite store has this used Quilter combo. It is 450w as a 1x12 combo and 800w with an extension cabinet. I did not make a video, but I think it sounds great. It has a ton of bottom, but is also bright, with lots of clarity, just like I like it. It is pretty expensive for a used combo. It think it is small batch/boutique. I would love to hear from anybody who has experience with this brand.

I don’t as a great a knowledge of amps and cabs as many people. I am no effects expert either.

Yeah. They make the bass block. It's a good clean amp. The eq is odd. A couple contour knobs. But, you can run whatever you want into it. Clean and reliable.

I got to play through one of the prototypes on some gigs some years ago before they were released. Being a techie guy used to graphics and parametrics, I didn't like the EQ controls … until I tried them. I dialed in a great tone in about 8 seconds. And there was pleanty of gain and power, even with the small size and very light weight.

If you want a very high powered, toneful combo that can easily fill a small venue on its' own, I haven't played a better one. However, if you don't need that much power and/ or you want something much smaller and lighter, it might not be optimal. My slightly smaller Bass Block 110 combo with the 802 head is an absolute shiiiite kicker....and I love that it leans heavily into the gut punch/Motown freq range.....all from a small rig. I don't know how cheap you can get it, but one negotiating point to make is that the head is now discontinued and the new model is due out imminently.

I may end up getting a Fender Rumble 500 because it is $250 cheaper new. I also have a bass upgrade planned, so I could save a bit, and not stretch my budget too much.

The 800 is a fantastic amp on its own. It handles an svt cabinet like a champ. You can add in a preamp of your choice if you want some more tonality . Recently I have been using it with Origin Effects DCX pedal ….wow.

I would also like to say in response to an earlier post. I do not believe this amp has a fan, so fan noise should not be an issue.
